Björneborg and Alfing Kessler signs significant agreement for supply of crankshaft material
Björneborg Steel AB and Maschinenfabrik Alfing Kessler GmbH have signed an agreement for the supply of starting materials for crankshaft manufacturing during 2027 and 2028. The companies have been partners for more than 20 years but the new contract volume is doubled in volume compared to 2026 and is four times higher compared to last year (2025). The new contract is also extended in time to be a 2-year contract. The increased demand is exclusively coming from power generation to operate AI-data centers.

“Our partnership and increase in volume with Alfing Kessler are proof of our quality steel and delivery capability. With this increase in volume, we need to employ about 15 new operators for our production. We look forward to continuing and increasing our cooperation with such a world leading customer as Maschinenfabrik Alfing Kessler.”
– Håkan Dedorsson, CEO at Björneborg Steel
“With full order books we don’t have any room for deviations in quality nor in delivery performance. The suppliers must be reliable as we want “no surprises”. Björneborg has shown to be one of those suppliers, and we are therefore very satisfied to have reached this agreement together.”
– Joerg Ladel, Director Purchasing and Supply Chain
